Info

Even before I fell in love with the art of photography, I had an immense passion for finding beauty in the daily details and interactions in life. Photography has allowed me to be a silent observer to some of the most beautiful and heart warming interactions, while endeavoring to artfully capture and preserve moments as pieces of fine art.

About me:
I love adventure. Any excuse to climb a tree, build a fort, hike a mountain, jump in the water, ride a bike, do a zipline… I’m taking it. My husband James and I spent our honeymoon backpacking around Europe, our second anniversary in a treehouse in WA state, and our third anniversary here. My house feels most like a home when our table is filled with our friends. I’m the slowest marathon runner alive. I like to hear stories and tell stories. I find beauty in humanity and interactions between strangers. Sometimes I bring beer and snacks to photoshoots for my clients. I think these organizations are changing the world and I would do anything for them: Show Hope, Young Life, IJM. I’m married to a musician and jump at chances to work with other artists.
My passport is always up to date. Doesn’t matter if it is Cambodia or Connecticut, I love to travel and would love an excuse to see your favorite place.

About Storytelling:
To me, photography is about telling stories. It’s about the in-between moments. Photographs should move you, inspire you, and challenge you. Part of being any kind of artist, is being able to see beauty in people and situations where other’s might not, and then communicating that beauty to the world. Whether I’m photographing for non-profit organizations, capturing the love of a family, or standing near a bride on her wedding day, I try to concentrate on human interactions, meaningful moments, timeless portraits, movement, and life. I treasure the stories I’ve been blessed to capture and I keep them close to my heart.
In both my wedding and commercial/editorial work, I work to create significant, beautiful, timeless images.

About You:
I’m proud to call so many of my clients my good friends. They love life, are kind, care about their families and friends, love to laugh, love creativity in many different forms, are always learning, and are intentional about making memories with those they love.
Kind words from a 2012 bride:
“We have been so completely amazed by how well you have been able to capture us. You helped us embrace our love of the outdoors, and the simplicity of us! It was so much fun climbing around mountains, and walking in streams with bare feet! I can’t stop looking at your work! I LOVE how you are able to capture moments, emotions, and looks that embody the very moment. I know for us, there was so much you were able to show that we can’t even take it all in! So thank you for making our wedding beautiful, special, and capturing all the love in it.”
