Yet another beautiful high school senior on the blog! Sarah will graduate from Franklin High School this year. She is very creative (a writer and a painter) and she had lots of great ideas for her shoot, including going to a laundromat! We had quite the adventure and I love how her pictures turned out.
I loved spending the afternoon with Kayla and her mom. We had a gorgeous day in Franklin, TN and found some beautiful locations, including this beautiful red bush- Kayla looks so good with red!
It was so nice meeting you guys! Hope you have an amazing senior year.
Nicole was so much fun to work with. We met up in Hillsboro Village and took pictures in the park and around town. Half way through her shoot, it started raining and got dark and cold really fast. She was a great sport and we ducked in and out of shops getting fun pictures. I loved how the rainy pictures turned out- proof that you don’t need perfect weather to get awesome pictures!
Thanks for being a great sport Nicole- you are so much fun!
And to top off the evening, some yummy hot cocoa at Fido. Perfection!
I’ve been thoroughly enjoying hanging out with some awesome 2012 seniors this fall. Molly is no exception- she was so much fun and had awesome ideas and outfits for her shoot. I had fun driving a huge truck around with a canoe on top to all our different locations.
A huge thanks to Molly’s dad and to my assistant Daniel Smith for helping with the canoe and with the shoot!
Catching this picture as the truck drove by was completely by accident. I was so thrilled I did a little skip jump.
I’ve recently been doing a lot of thinking about photography and life… and chocolate. *Chocolate is usually floating around in my brain somewhere.* In a world where most everyone has an iphone, constant connection to the internet, and a lifestyle that goes a mile a minute, what is the relevance of professional photography for the every day person? A portrait session should be about much more than getting a good picture where everyone is looking the same direction and smiling. You could get that with a tripod and an iphone camera.
Instead of paying big bucks to sit in a studio, think about this: plan a fun date with your family, your spouse, your pet, or yourself. Go out to coffee, play football in the park, make pancakes in your PJs, go to a corn maze, ride your bikes, have a picnic, play a board game, go to the beach, or go hiking… and invite your photographer to come along with you! Not only will you make beautiful memories with the ones you love, but you will have beautiful pictures to help preserve those memories forever. So while you’re thinking about your Christmas card, think about what your family loves. Think about what you love. Think about childhood memories… and let’s incorporate that in to your session!
Life is an adventure… your pictures should be too.
Hannah came to my neck of the woods for her dreamy/colorful fall Senior session. She and her family just moved here from Knoxville, TN and she is now a Senior at Franklin High School. This was definitely an “adventure session” because we were jumping in and out of the way of cars, climbing trees, and breaking rules… so we had a great time and got some fun whimsical pictures in the process. Good luck with your Senior year and your college decisions!
