Mike and Susan just recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. Their children got together and planned a portrait session for them while they were in town visiting. They were so much fun to be around and we had a great time in Hillsboro Village getting some fun shots.

One of my favorite things about doing what I do, is getting to work with so many talented people. Kallie Robertson-Smith is so fabulous at what she does: designing awesome vintage apparel. Her line “Love, Simone” has so much character and whimsy. I kept ooing and awing over every outfit that got put on. First half of the shoot was at Kallie’s fabulous Victorian house, and the second was at a tea party. The models, makeup artist, assistants, and stylists did a smashing job. I love musical families. Andy and Jen are so fun, musical and crafty, so to capture their personalities, we included drums, cymbals, and little felt hearts into their newborn baby shoot. Mr. Nash is the cutest little guy you’ll ever see. He was totally rocking the faux-hawk too. If you haven’t seen them yet, check out Andy and Jen’s “Hearts and Sprinkles” maternity pictures.

I love wedding season. So much happiness, excitement, and so many parties. I’m so excited for my dear friend Katie’s wedding, which is only a few short weeks away. If you haven’t seen Katie and Joel’s engagement pictures, you should definitely check them out. Such a cute couple and so in love. Their wedding is going to be ridiculously awesome.

This shower was at The Acorn Restaurant in Nashville. Robin from The Acorn was so great! The mimosas were wonderful! Decor by yours truly, and baking delights by the lovely Katie Dunlap.

These table cloths are from Urban Outfitters, and are actually drapes. The little blue glass bottles I’ve collected over the years from antique stores. They’re usually only about $1 and they are so handy.

Look how cute she is. She makes these feather hair things herself!

Devon and Pierre-Charles have a romance story straight out of a fairy tale. They met while Devon was studying abroad in France in college, they dated long distance for years, and are now planning their wedding (in France) next summer. Pierre-Charles was visiting for the week, so we were able to get some engagement pictures before he flew back over the ocean.

I’m so excited for you guys! I can’t wait to be a part of your wedding!

We just had to incorporate some fairy tale aspects into the shoot. Devon liked the idea of the “Frog Prince” – so we played around with wands and frogs in my friend’s apple orchard.

P.S. – this is the town their wedding will be in next July. Enough to make you faint, no?
