Best Faces of 2010

2010 has been filled with a lot of really good faces- pretty ones, goofy ones, friendly ones… not so friendly ones… but I really couldn’t decide which face I liked the best. I picked out some of my favorites, some expressions that embody the unique personalities of each individual….

But I want to know which one is your favorite. Maybe you’ll win something for voting… maybe the best face will win something…

So I’m thinking… if you vote, I’ll write your name on a piece of paper, singe it with a candle flame, kiss it three times, and then put it in a hat with everyone else’s names, and then have my lovely assistant James pull one out of the hat. If your name is drawn, you’ll get something sweet. Like how about a free photo shoot?! or a 8×10 print of your choice?! or my undying affection till the end of time?!

Ok- GO!

1. Jean Family (especially check out Brent’s face on the left side there)

Madi | Snowy Christmas Portraits

Exhibit #2- Why taking pictures in the winter is awesome. (Exhibit #1 was Ashley and Ryan’s Engagement Pictures).

So for some reason, photographers always seem to get a little less work in the winter. Maybe it’s the  chilling temperatures, or maybe it’s the few extra holiday pounds that find even the most dedicated dieters. Well, whatever your reason may be, I’m here to tell you that taking your pictures in the winter (and outside too!) is actually, really awesome and fun.

Here’s some of the reasoning:

1. You have a reason to wear that really expensive cute coat that you bought but never wear.

2. You can bundle up the chillens in their cutest hats and boots and knee length socks.

3. The lighting in the winter is PERFECT. Pictures are warmer and less prone to shadows.

4. Many photographers offer discounts around the holidays.

5. Snow, even if it’s just a few flurries, is very pretty in portraits and family shots.

But don’t take my word for it. Check out these pictures of Madi- not only is she gorgeous, but she is quite the trooper when it comes to the cold. She goes to CPA and is a very talented artist.

.Mort the Fort.

Well… I finally caved and decided to decorate for Christmas. Nothing says Christmas magic like a little Christmas fort.

As long as it doesn’t catch on fire, we’ll be good.
